Step 1: Receiving and Preparing Your Breastmilk

When your breastmilk arrives, labelled with your order number, it is carefully placed in our special freezer until we are ready to begin. The night before creation, we thaw your precious milk in preparation for its transformation.

Step 2: Preservation

Your breastmilk is gently heated in a double boiler along with our in-house preservation powders—formulated and used by other keepsake artists across the UK who have taken our courses. We use 5ml of your milk, bringing it to a gentle boil before adding the preservation powder. This mixture is then spread onto parchment paper to dry for 2-3 days.

Step 3: Creating the Powder

Once dried, the preserved milk is crushed into a fine powder, ready to be turned into jewellery.

Step 4: Crafting the Jewellery

We prepare the chosen pendant or ring base on a level surface, ready for transformation. The preserved breastmilk powder is mixed with a UV resin—renowned for its durability, waterproof qualities, and resistance to scratching and yellowing. We often add a touch of pigment powder for an aesthetically pleasing finish.

Step 5: Layering the Resin

Using a cocktail stick, we meticulously add the resin mixture layer by layer, curing each layer individually to ensure a flawless result.

Step 6: Final Touches

A crystal-clear top coat is applied to your piece to protect it from the elements, enhancing its beauty and longevity.

Step 7: Ready for Home

Your finished piece is placed in a special window display box to prevent tarnish, then packaged with sweet treats and a lot of love from us. We ship your keepsake via Royal Mail tracked and signed, ensuring peace of mind for its journey home.
